Tina Waldrom speaks with Scottish theologian and author John Drane, who has preached for and met The Queen. The topic of conversation, The Queen’s Faith Being a Light for Christ. With the funeral of The Queen having just passed at the time of this interview, John reflects on the life of The Sovereign, informed by his personal engagements. Don’t Convert People to Christianity or the Church. Tina Waldrom speaks with Darryn Keneally whose conversion experience and subsequent life of following Christ, has led him to a clear focus about sharing the person of Jesus. Darryn, who has an Order of Australia for his youth work, is today a business consultant and charity director. He realises the challenges for the Church and Christianity in the West. He spends his life focusing on the person of Jesus, Him being seen and experienced.
Darryn as a young person was homeless by choice. Today, he is passionate about people finding out about the meaning, purpose and significance of a friendship with Jesus. As a teenager, Jesus changed his life in extraordinary ways. As he reflects on his own journey, he is often reminded to keep the focus on Jesus and not Christianity or the Church. Research shows that Jesus Christ, the founder of the Christian faith, is still a highly regarded historical figure. On the other hand, the words church and Christianity often conjure up negative perceptions.
In this episode, Darryn shares his story of hopelessness to hope. He is not ashamed of the church and in fact, is an avid church goer. He shares his story of how the church community influenced his life and helped him rehabilitate from addiction and crime. Church today, however, has a certain negative meaning to many. Christianity today, also has a damaging reputation. Darryn encourages people to embrace these realities but offers some thoughts on how Jesus can still be lifted high in this environment.
In this podcast episode, you will discover…
How Jesus not Christianity changed Darry Keneally’s life.
Why trying to attract people to attend church can be difficult.
What Australians think of Jesus and the implications.
How Christian community helps in the discipleship process.
Why being Christ to others should be top priority.
The experiences that have led people to dislike Christianity.
Real life stories of people being attracted to the person of Jesus.
An appreciation for church and Christianity but …
The power of understanding the times we live in.
Why believers must know how to share Jesus personally.
And so much more…

Tina Waldrom speaks with Graham Bradbeer about The Evangelism Tension in Chaplaincy. Graham is an expert in this field. He worked for more than 30 years in a prominent boys school in Australia. The opportunities were great but equally was the need to be wise with how the Gospel was both heard and seen. Wisdom to manage the often-felt tension when representing Christ through Chaplaincy is what Graham did best. His reflections and learnings from decades of experience are invaluable.
It was Graham’s great joy to have been involved in the lives of almost 1000 students each week. Representing Christ well was the challenge. Graham was conscience of not inoculating people from the Gospel, and so took a certain approach to his work. Going about his work with a long-term approach helped Graham take steps in chaplaincy that were measured and wise. Caring and loving others was a privilege that Christ had given him. He never wanted to abuse the access he had been given to people’s lives but simply wanted to represent Christ well in the setting.
In this episode, Graham reveals the heart behind his service. The importance of downward mobility to serve others is a hall mark of his story. A genuine love and care for both students and staff are so evident in Graham’s approach. Each week and three times per week, Graham had the opportunity to say something about Christ to hundreds of students and to the listening ears of school staff. Graham shares some of the processes he went through to decide on what to say and what not to say. He talks about the bigger picture of what he was trying to achieve. The Evangelism Tension in Chaplaincy was something Graham embraced and learnt to do well. The lessons he shares are helpful for everyone bringing the Gospel to others.
In this podcast episode, you will discover…
Wisdom from 30 years of chaplaincy experience.
How to manage the evangelism tension in chaplaincy.
What pure and good deeds look like in chaplaincy.
How downward mobility is the best model for chaplaincy.
The place of declaration versus good deeds in evangelism.
Why integrity with people trumps everything in outreach.
Thought-provoking comments on the role of a Chaplain.
How to not abuse the access that Chaplains are given.
The Power of recognising the place of others in the caring chain.
How to stay connected to Graham Bradbeer.

Tina Waldrom speaks with Cam Buchanan about Positioning Yourself for Evangelism. Cam is the senior minister of Mount Gambier Baptist Church in South Australia. He is also the host of the podcast, Devotions in the Deep End. Cam has been involved in the work of evangelism for many decades. He has always been down to earth and very relatable. Evangelism cannot be an afterthought, there must be some intentionality about reaching people for Christ. A simple thought like, Positioning Yourself for Evangelism, combined with some small actions, can help everyone participate in the great commission with ease and confidence.
Cam believes every believer can bring the Kingdom to their local community. Viewing your locality with a ‘parish’ mindset can make all the difference. Cam provokes people to think about the places they hang out at. How those spaces can become more intentional to build relationships and share Jesus. Cam talks about maximising the life you already live to be more intentional for the cause of Christ. Positioning Yourself for Evangelism can be very natural and easy. Cam shares real life scenarios to illustrate what he means.
In this episode, Cam talks about habits and rituals that can help people be more effective in evangelism. He doesn’t claim to be an expert in the field of outreach. He has however, discovered some simple keys that have become fruitful habits. As a local church pastor, Cam could be confined to his office space and to his local church members. Instead, he has followed Jesus into the community where He is already at work. Cam shares about the books he reads and the voices he listens to that keep his life outward focused.
In this podcast episode, you will discover…

Tina Waldrom speaks with Rodney Olsen on the topic that Evangelism is Not Selling a Belief System. Rodney, host of the Bleeding Daylight podcast, has interviewed some extraordinary people that illustrate this truth. He shares some of their wisdom. Sharing Jesus is more than being armed with the correct theology and ready to defend the faith at any time. Whilst this may be appropriate, it’s not the ideal way to share Jesus. Rodney shares some challenging thoughts and encourages believers that, Evangelism is Not Selling a Belief System.
The story of the Samaritan woman at the well, is the perfect example that evangelism is more than selling a belief system. In this story, Jesus is seen as someone who knows the woman deeply, shows genuine care and connects His message in a very personal way. In a way that will help her. The story illustrates a way of evangelism that is considerate, embracive, ready to listen and so much more. Rodney expands on this biblical story and others from the interviews he has conducted.
In this episode, Rodney talks about Bradley Hopp, the co-founder of Teshuah Tea Company and Neil Tomba, the Senior Pastor of Northwest Bible Church. The stories are remarkable with clear messages that will help Christians share Jesus better. Evangelism is something that everyone can engage with. In fact, Jesus in His last command to go and make disciples, clearly thought that everyone could participate. Rodney shares the stories that illustrate the very real potential for everyone to be involved in evangelism. To be involved in simple yet profound ways. Ways that show and demonstrate a real and living Christ. Evangelism is Not Selling a Belief System.
In this podcast episode, you will discover…
Why Evangelism is Not Selling a Belief System.
What evangelism is if it’s more than selling beliefs.
Examples of people sharing Jesus, not selling a doctrine.
What Bleeding Daylight is all about.
The miracle story of God showing up to a brothel owner.
How to share Jesus so people get it.
Jesus’ style of evangelism: genuine concern and love.
The need for the Kingdom of God to be seen.
Why deeds are very important and words secondary.
How to connect people to Jesus in simple, everyday ways.
Thoughts on doctrine and how it can damage people.
How Aussies prefer to engage with spiritual things today.
And so much more…

Tina Waldrom speaks with Pastor Nataliya Osipova about Evangelism Lessons from Ukraine. Australian television has also reported on this unique story. Through a new initiative, Evolve Help Ukraine, Nataliya and her husband have helped hundreds of Ukrainians fleeing the war. Nataliya’s views on evangelism and people coming to faith have changed significantly. She shares her new insights for church leaders and believers alike.
Shutting down their weekend service at Evolve Church has been a wise decision. Diverting time and resource to meet the needs of people fleeing war has bought many delightful outcomes. Desperate people have received the practical help they need, and an opportunity to explore Christ has flowed naturally. There has been no pressure to pursue Christianity, yet the light of Christ has been seen and experienced by hundreds. The Kingdom of God has expanded in organic ways.
Nataliya, also the National Director of Missions Interlink, had often wondered what compelled people to work among refugees. Now she knows. Her pure-hearted attempts to gather people and meet the needs of Ukrainians, has led to many exploring and experiencing Christ. From Welcome Hubs to Bible studies, Nataliya’s is experiencing the ingredients that are helping people practically and spiritually. Raised as a Pentecostal, her deeply embedded thoughts on evangelism have been challenged and now reformed, to be more effective.
In this episode, Nataliya shares the story of why and how she became involved with Ukrainians fleeing to Australia. She didn’t have the resources to help but was willing to step out in faith. Outside of their regular full-time employment, Nataliya and her husband Andrey have added this extra work to their busy schedules. The stories of provision, dignity being restored and hope offered are extraordinary. This story is a modern day, Mother Teresa type work, in our own backyard.
In this podcast episode, you will discover…

Why Nataliya decided to help Ukrainians fleeing the war.
What EvolveHelpUkraine is what they do.
