In this episode of the Win Win Evangelism Podcast, Tina Waldrom interviews Dr Tania Harris, founding director of God Conversations, for a fascinating and hope-filled discussion on the question, “How Is God Speaking to Those Who Don’t Know Him?” Together, they explore how the Holy Spirit is already at work beyond the walls of the Church and among people who might describe themselves as “spiritual but not religious.” Drawing from real-life stories, including powerful encounters where people have experienced dreams and visions of Jesus, Tania and Tina unpack how God continues to reveal Himself to seekers in unexpected ways, from the Middle East to modern-day Australia.
This conversation will change how you think about evangelism. Rather than seeing it as bringing God to others, Tania invites listeners to consider that God is already speaking. Our role is to recognise where He’s at work and join in. The episode unpacks what this means for everyday believers: how to discern spiritual openness, how to listen with humility, and how to share faith naturally and sensitively. Whether you’re part of a local church, leading a small group, or simply walking alongside friends who don’t yet believe, this episode offers fresh insight into what it truly means to partner with the Spirit in helping others encounter Jesus.
In this podcast episode, you will discover that:
God is already speaking to those who are seeking Him.
The Holy Spirit plays a crucial role in evangelism.
Recognizing spiritual seekers can change our approach to outreach.
People often reject religion but are open to spirituality.
Evangelism should be a partnership with the Holy Spirit.
Openness and humility are key to hearing God's voice.
We should look for opportunities to engage in spiritual conversations.
The church's role is to walk alongside seekers, not coerce them.
Understanding the cultural context is vital for effective evangelism.
Sharing personal experiences can create meaningful connections.

In this episode of the Win Win Evangelism Podcast, Tina Waldrom explores the question: Why are so many Australians turning away from Christianity and what can we do about it? Drawing from key national research by McCrindle, NCLS and the Australian Bureau of Statistics, Tina highlights the cultural shifts shaping the nation’s spiritual landscape. From perceptions of hypocrisy to distrust in institutions, the Church’s stance on sexuality, and the rise of “spiritual but not religious” thinking, she outlines six crucial insights to help believers understand what’s really going on.
More than statistics, this conversation offers practical ways to respond with empathy, authenticity, and integrity. Tina challenges listeners to rebuild trust through everyday consistency, to engage people relationally rather than institutionally, and to tell better stories about what God is doing in real lives. Whether you lead a church or simply want to represent Jesus more authentically in your world, this episode provides clarity, challenge and hope for evangelism in today’s Australia.
In this podcast episode, you will discover that:
Many Australians are turning away from Christianity due to the Church's stance on sexuality.
The perception of hypocrisy among Christians damages trust in the Church.
Authenticity and vulnerability are crucial for rebuilding trust.
Young Australians seek spirituality but resist traditional institutions.
Every friendship a Christian builds is a chance for evangelism.
The media shapes public opinion about Christianity negatively.

Engaging with young people requires authenticity and realness.
Rebuilding trust involves demonstrating compassion and integrity.

Discussion Questions1. Jesus embodied both uncompromising truth and radical compassion. How can you communicate biblical truth particularly on sensitive topics like sexuality with empathy, humility and grace? What would it look like to “lead with listening” in your own relationships?Read: John 1:142. Many Australians admire Jesus but distrust the Church because of perceived hypocrisy. How can you personally close the gap between what you profess and how you live? What habits or practices might help you model authentic integrity?Read: Matthew 23:27–28 and James 1:223. Research shows that over a million Australians don’t personally know a Christian. How could you make yourself more intentionally present in your local community, like joining clubs, volunteering, or building friendships? What might “relational evangelism” look like for you?Read: Matthew 5: 14-164. In a culture that distrusts institutions, people are searching for realness. How might your vulnerability or honesty about personal struggles make the gospel more credible? When was a time that authenticity opened a door for faith conversation?Read: 2 Corinthians 12: 9-10.5. Media scandals and failures often dominate the public image of Christianity. How can you tell “better stories” through your own life and your community? What practical ways can you respond with grace rather than defensiveness when criticism arises?
Read: 1 Peter 2:12 and Romans 12:21.6. Younger Australians often reject institutions but remain open to spirituality. How can you, your small group, or your church engage them through authenticity, creativity and service? What can you learn from their hunger for meaning and community?Read: 1 Timothy 4:127. Tina concluded that evangelism isn’t about blaming culture but reflecting Jesus more authentically. What does “reflecting Jesus” look like in your workplace, neighbourhood, or friendships? How might you help rebuild trust in Christ through your daily life?Read: Philippians 2:14-15

Discussion Questions1. Adele shared that she started Soul Submitted Designs because “God asked me to.” What does obedience to God’s prompting look like in your own life?Read: John 14:15 “If you love me, obey my commandments.”2. Adele was stirred to create designs because she saw the cross being misrepresented. What steps can you take to represent Jesus faithfully in your own sphere of influence?Read: 2 Corinthians 5:20 - “So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”
3. Through simple clothing, Adele and others have seen opportunities to share Jesus naturally. How does Colossians 3:17 (“Whatever you do… do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus”) inspire you to integrate evangelism into your daily routines - through your work, hobbies, or even what you wear?
4. Adele said, “The first conversation a Christian has is with themselves.” How does wearing or displaying your faith help keep your heart aligned with Christ?Read: "Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.”5. Many people who saw Adele’s shirts didn’t start conversations, but the message still reached them. How can you be faithful in “sowing” the gospel, even when you don’t see immediate results?Read: Matthew 13:3-9 “He told many stories in the form of parables, such as this one: “Listen! A farmer went out to plant some seeds. As he scattered them across his field, some seeds fell on a footpath, and the birds came and ate them. Other seeds fell on shallow soil with underlying rock. The seeds sprouted quickly because the soil was shallow. But the plants soon wilted under the hot sun, and since they didn’t have deep roots, they died. Other seeds fell among thorns that grew up and choked out the tender plants. Still other seeds fell on fertile soil, and they produced a crop that was thirty, sixty, and even a hundred times as much as had been planted! Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand.”6. Adele’s designs opened new doors for evangelism through art and fashion. What creative skills or resources might God be calling you to use for His glory?Read: Exodus 35:31–32 “The Lord has filled Bezalel with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts. He is a master craftsman, expert in working with gold, silver, and bronze.”7. Adele mentioned the challenges of running a Christian business and how she speaks with “CEO Father God” about every issue. How can perseverance in difficulty make your witness stronger?Read: Philippians 4:6–7 “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

Discussion Questions1. Lachlan shared that before Christ, he tried to fill the void in his life with parties, drugs, money, and relationships. What are some common “quick fixes” people turn to today instead of God?
Read: John 4:13-14 “Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
2. Lachlan described a turning point when he realised he had to stop blaming others and take responsibility for his life. How does taking ownership of our own sin open the door for God’s grace?Read: James 1:14–15 “but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. 15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.”
3. Lachlan said he became “miserably happy”, he cleaned up his life but still felt empty until he encountered Jesus. Why do you think self-improvement alone cannot replace salvation?Read: Ephesians 2:8–9 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast.”
4. Lachlan’s conversion began with a thought: “Reach out to Me.” How has God drawn you (or people you know) to Himself, sometimes unexpectedly?Read: John 6:44 “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day.”
5. When Lachlan first became a Christian, he zealously gave out Bibles and told everyone about Jesus. Have you ever been overzealous in sharing your faith? How can we balance boldness with wisdom and grace?Read: Colossians 4:5–6 “Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.”6. Lachlan learned that people are often reached more by watching how Christians live than by what we say. In what specific ways can your daily life shine Christ’s light to those around you?Read: Matthew 5:14–16 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
7. If you had only two minutes to share with someone what Jesus has done in your life (as Lachlan suggests), what would you say? How can your story of Jesus’ work in your life become a bridge to evangelism?
Read: Acts 22:6–10 About noon as I came near Damascus, suddenly a bright light from heaven flashed around me. I fell to the ground and heard a voice say to me, “Saul! Saul! Why do you persecute me?”
“Who are you, Lord?” I asked.
“I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you are persecuting,” He replied. My companions saw the light, but they did not understand the voice of Him who was speaking to me.
“What shall I do, Lord?” I asked.
“ Get up,” the Lord said, “and go into Damascus. There you will be told all that you have been assigned to do.”

They discuss the importance of gospel urgency, fluency, and strategy, as well as practical tools like the “Ask, Admire, Admit” approach to sharing faith in everyday conversations. Listeners will be inspired by the vision of gospel-advancing ministries that multiply disciples and see young people grow spiritually as they boldly live and share the good news of Jesus.
In this podcast episode, you will discover that:
Greg Steer emphasises the importance of mobilising teens to share the gospel.
The average teen in a gospel advancing group has 50 gospel conversations per year.
Youth leaders must model evangelism for their students.
Relational evangelism is key to effective youth ministry.
Fear of rejection is a significant barrier for teens in sharing their faith.
Awkwardness in conversations can lead to meaningful connections.

Discussion Questions1. Why is it important to reach teenagers with the gospel while they are young? Consider Greg’s point that 80% of people come to Christ before 18.
Read: “Remember your Creator in the days of your youth” (Ecclesiastes 12:1).
2. Jesus mobilised His mostly teenage disciples to share the gospel (Matthew 4:19; Luke 9–10). What can we learn from His model of moving from model → mobilise → multiply? How might this shape youth ministry today?
3. Greg talks about gospel urgency, fluency, and strategy. Which of these three do you most need to grow in, and how can you develop it?
Read: “Always be prepared to give an answer…with gentleness and respect” (1 Peter 3:15).4. Why is “awkward awesome” when sharing faith? How does embracing awkward moments open doors for gospel conversations?
Read: Jesus’ conversation with the Samaritan woman (John 4:16–18).
5. What role should leaders play in modelling evangelism for young people?
Read: “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:1)?
6. Greg shared that students who share their faith grow spiritually faster. Why do you think evangelism accelerates discipleship?
Read: James 2:22 “You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did.”
7. Fear of rejection is one of the biggest barriers for teens (and adults) in evangelism. How does the gospel give courage to overcome this fear?
Read: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and self-discipline” (2 Timothy 1:7).

In this episode of the Win Win Evangelism Podcast, Tina Waldrom unpacks a powerful idea the Lord has placed on her heart: legacy evangelism. Too often we think of legacy in terms of money, property, or achievements, but Tina explains that true legacy is about what we leave in people, not just for people. Drawing from Scripture and real-life examples, she reminds us that the way we model evangelism in our everyday lives can inspire others to do the same. Our example becomes our legacy, and whether as individuals or as churches, the seeds we sow today, seen or unseen, can grow into fruit that impacts generations to come.
Tina shares inspiring stories, from the ripple effect of Edward Kimball’s quiet witness that ultimately influenced Billy Graham, to the generational faith passed from Lois to Eunice to Timothy in the Bible. She highlights how legacy evangelism isn’t just for the well-known or the famous but is built through ordinary faithfulness, acts of kindness, everyday prayers, and sharing our personal stories. This episode challenges us to ask: what legacy of evangelism are we leaving behind? Will people remember us as those who kept the good news to ourselves, or as those who sowed generously into others’ lives? Be encouraged to let legacy become your motivation for sharing Jesus and shaping a future that outlives you.
In this podcast episode, you will discover that:
Legacy is what you leave behind in people, not just for them.
Our example becomes our legacy in evangelism.
No act of witness is ever wasted; seeds bear fruit later.
Faith can be passed down through generations.
Ordinary acts of kindness can lead to extraordinary impacts.
The life of Jesus is the greatest legacy we can follow.
We must preach the good news through words and actions.
Churches should lean into the concept of legacy in outreach.
Identifying individuals to sow into can create lasting change.
The full impact of our legacy may only be seen in eternity.
And more…

Discussion Questions1. When you hear the word “legacy,” what comes to mind? Money, property, reputation, or something deeper? How does Jesus call us to think about legacy differently?
Read: Matthew 6:19–20 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth… But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven.”
2. DL Moody said, “Out of 100 people, one will read the Bible, the other 99 will read the Christian.” What would people “read” about evangelism if they looked at your life or your church?
Read: 1 Corinthians 11:1 “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.”
3. Paul wrote that he planted, Apollos watered, but God made it grow. How can you stay motivated to share your faith, even when you don’t see immediate results?
Read: 1 Corinthians 3:6 “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.”
4. Timothy’s faith was passed down from his grandmother Lois to his mother Eunice, and then to him. How are you sowing faith into the next generation whether your children, grandchildren, or spiritual children?
Read: 2 Timothy 1:5 “I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice…”
5. The Samaritan woman simply shared her story, and many believed. What “ordinary” acts of kindness, consistency, or testimony might God use in your life to point people to Jesus?
Read: John 4:39 “Many of the Samaritans… believed in him because of the woman’s testimony.”
6. Jesus didn’t leave behind property or writings, but He left behind disciples, His message, and His example. Which of these three legacies do you feel most challenged to carry forward today - discipleship, proclaiming the gospel, or living with compassion and sacrifice?

Discussion Questions1. When you think about apologetics, do you tend to picture a debate or a conversation? How could shifting from “winning arguments” to “building relationships” change the way you share your faith?
Read: Colossians 4:5–6 “Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders… Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt…”
2. Justin Brierley said: “If our faith cannot stand up to difficult questions, is it worth having?” How do you respond when someone asks you a challenging question about Christianity?
Read: 1 Peter 3:15 “Always be prepared to give an answer… but do this with gentleness and respect.”
3. Rob Martin reminded us that people are thirsty for meaning, purpose, and hope and only Jesus satisfies. Where do you see “spiritual thirst” in your workplace, neighbourhood, or family?
Read: John 4:13–14 “Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst.”
4. Testimonies cut through arguments because no one can deny your lived experience. If someone asked why you follow Jesus, what part of your story would you share first?
Read: Revelation 12:11 “They triumphed… by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.”
5. Sean McDowell emphasised that conversion is often a journey, not an event. How patient are you in walking with someone who isn’t yet ready to believe?
Read: 1 Corinthians 3:6 “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.”
6. Mary Jo Sharp’s story shows that even the most skeptical people can be reached through honest, thoughtful conversations. Who in your life is a skeptic or deep thinker and how could you begin with a genuine question instead of an answer?
Read: Acts 17:22–23 Paul began with respect and curiosity when addressing the Athenians.
7. Tina challenged listeners to have one intentional faith conversation this week not a debate, not a sermon, but a question that opens the door. What’s one small step you could take this week to open up a spiritual conversation?
Read: Romans 10:14 “How can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?”

In this episode, Tina Waldrom has a heartfelt conversation with Rabbi Lawrence Hirsch about the importance of bringing the Gospel to the Jewish Community. Rabbi Lawrence opens up about his personal journey to faith, giving listeners a glimpse into the unique challenges that Jewish people face when considering Jesus as the Messiah. He also takes time to share the historical background of Jewish-Christian relations, helping Christians better understand the sensitivities that still exist today. His story highlights both the struggles and the hope that come with following Christ, while holding on to the rich heritage of Jewish identity.
The discussion goes deeper into what evangelism looks like in this context, stressing the need for Christians to approach Jewish people with gentleness, humility, and respect. Rabbi Lawrence explains that sharing the gospel isn’t about stripping away Jewishness, but rather about showing how faith in Jesus fulfills the promises of Scripture. For churches and believers today, this episode is a valuable reminder that evangelism requires cultural awareness and genuine love, especially when reaching out to communities with such deep spiritual and historical roots.
In this podcast episode, you will discover that:
Lawrence Hirsch’s journey from a Jewish upbringing to faith in Jesus.
The importance of recognising Jesus' Jewish identity in evangelism.
Christianity has deep Jewish roots that should be acknowledged.
Many Jewish people feel betrayed when someone converts to Christianity.
Outreach to the Jewish community should emphasise continuity, not conversion.
Historical tensions between Christians and Jews impact current relationships.
Love and support for Jewish people are crucial in today's climate.
The recent events in Israel have heightened anti-Semitism globally.
Christians can play a role in combating anti-Semitism through friendship.
In times of hardship, people are more open to the Gospel message.
And more…

Discussion Questions1. How does remembering that Jesus Himself was Jewish shape the way we share the Gospel with Jewish people and with anyone?
Read: Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.”
2. Rabbi Lawrence shared how his brother used Isaiah 53 without revealing the passage, and he immediately recognised Jesus in it. What role should the Old Testament/Tanakh play in our evangelism conversations?
Read: Isaiah 53:5 “But he was pierced for our transgressions…”
3. Jewish people often feel that believing in Jesus means “rejecting” their Jewish identity. How can we, as Christians, communicate that following Jesus is not about abandoning culture or heritage but about fulfilling God’s promises?
Read: Matthew 5:17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.”
4. Lawrence mentioned his mother felt “betrayed” when he came to faith. How should we sensitively approach conversations with people who may see accepting Jesus as disloyalty to family, culture, or tradition?
Read: Luke 14:26 “If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother… yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple.” (to wrestle with the cost of discipleship and relational tensions)
5. The history of Christian persecution of Jews is a massive barrier in evangelism. How can acknowledging past wrongs and showing humility open doors for Gospel conversations today?
Read: Romans 11:18 “Do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you.”
6. Lawrence described evangelism as not inviting Jews to “become Christians” but showing them that Jesus is their Messiah. How could this paradigm shift change the way you share your faith with anyone?
Read: John 4:22 – “You worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews.”
7. Lawrence and his wife Louise both came to faith within hours of each other on opposite sides of the world — a testimony of God’s sovereign timing. How can stories like this encourage us to trust God’s timing in our evangelism efforts?
Read: 1 Corinthians 3:6 “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.”

In this episode, Tina Waldrom continues her conversation with Pastor Rob Martin. This time, the focus turns to big questions secular people ask and how believers can engage. The pandemic for one exposed deep issues within society. Rob reflects on the nature of suffering and how people have wrestled with feelings of loss, fear, and uncertainty during this time. He explains that the Christian faith doesn’t shy away from suffering but instead provides a framework of hope and meaning, pointing to the presence of Christ in the middle of life’s hardest moments. Personal stories are also shared, reminding listeners that being open about our struggles can build bridges of understanding and compassion.
The episode also highlights how these themes connect with evangelism and the heart behind the Ideas Convention. Rob Martin explains that sharing our pain alongside the hope we’ve found in Christ helps others see that the gospel is not just theory but real good news for everyday life. Evangelism, he suggests, is less about having neat answers and more about walking with people in their questions, pointing them to Jesus as the ultimate source of comfort and transformation. Building on the themes of last week’s episode, which gave an overview of the Ideas Convention, this conversation equips Christians to engage culture authentically, demonstrating how the message of Christ speaks directly into the even bigger questions people are asking today.
In this podcast episode, you will discover that:
Hope can be found even in difficult times like the pandemic.
The pandemic has revealed underlying societal issues.
Suffering can lead to deeper connections with God.
The Christian message offers hope and meaning in suffering.
Personal stories of suffering can resonate with others.
God's presence provides comfort in anxious times.
The good news of Jesus is transformative for individuals and society.
